Customized Lessons

Lessons for middle school and high school aged students are tailored depending on each student’s unique goals and interests. Working in collaboration with each family, I support these goals by creating a holistic curriculum that combines technique, scales and arpeggios, etudes, solo and ensemble repertoire. In addition to standard classical repertoire, students may explore alternative genres such as folk and popular music.
Creative freedom is emphasized at this age as students explore their sense of identity. I give them more independence and responsibility and work on developing their confidence through encouraging regular performances opportunities. I help them learn how to set goals, manage time, and think critically, supporting their growth as effective individuals both in and outside of their weekly lessons.
All students in this age range are highly encouraged to participate in social music activities, such as youth orchestras, chamber music, and summer camps. Participation in local, regional, and national competitions is encouraged for families who are interested.

Interested in lessons?

Contact me for rates and availability. We will set up an introductory lesson where we get to know one another and discuss your child's goals with their instrument.
From there, we will establish a month-long trial period to ensure that the studio is a great fit and that the practice goals we establish from the outset have made satisfactory progress. Following this period, we will meet weekly and begin your child's musical journey.
Please note: a parent must be present in the introductory lesson and trial period. Thereafter, if mutually agreed upon, students aged 11-18 may elect to attend lessons independently.
