Adult Lessons

Interested in taking up a new hobby? Dusting off your cello from years past? Looking to connect with others? Whatever your reason may be, learning an instrument is an enjoyable, challenging, and gratifying pursuit that is accessible to everyone, no matter your age or background.
With my adult students, I emphasize joy from the outset, as well as the need for patience, grace, and laughter throughout the learning process. As we mature, our minds move faster than our fingers, and it takes time to learn a new skill and be a beginner again. I am there to ensure that your set-up is healthy and properly aligned, which will allow you to establish a sustainable and enjoyable practice routine. In addition, I will curate a curriculum for you that builds a strong musical foundation, including a balanced diet of sight-reading, technique, scales and arpeggios, etudes, solo, and ensemble repertoire.
Music offers us innumerable joys, including the ability to connect with others. I enjoy playing cello duets regularly with all of my adult learners and invite them to pursue ensemble opportunities, such as playing in a community orchestra, a chamber group with fellow amateurs, or in community settings such as church and volunteer spaces.

Interested in lessons?

Contact me for rates and availability. We will set up a phone call to discuss your background and goals with the instrument. From there, we will set up an introductory lesson. If we decide to move forward, we will establish a regular meeting time and begin your musical journey!
Please note: lesson times between 3-7PM on weekdays are prioritized for students (of all ages) who take lessons on a consistent weekly basis.
